Dr. Jacob Harris, DVM
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine · University of Tennessee, 2021
Dr. Harris brings wisdom beyond his years. With real-world agricultural experience, strong medical training, and a reputation for dependability, his practice is unmatched. Whether he's treating a pasture full of cattle or your beloved family pet, you can expect his absolute best every time.
Biography
A native of Russellville, Tennessee, Dr. Harris grew up the youngest of three boys on his family's farm. From a young age, that shaped both his team-first mentality and his sleeves-rolled-up approach to any challenge. Hamblen County holds a special place in his heart, and he's proud to still call the community home after 32 years.
He attended the University of Tennessee, where he majored in Animal Science. Today, Jacob still helps out on his family farm, but also owns a local farm of his own with animals of all kinds.
“I've seen both sides of animal care, as a veterinarian and as an owner. Sometimes you don't need a lecture, medical terminology, or a price tag that makes you question your decision. Too often you're in a tight spot and you need a solution that works. I enjoy what I do because you see the impact with your own eyes.”
Outside the Clinic
Jacob is married to his high-school sweetheart, Dr. Brittany Harris, who is also a practicing veterinarian. Together they stay busy managing their beef-cattle farms in Mohawk and Russellville, with a plethora of animals big and small that Jacob affectionately calls “the Zoo.”
When he's not in the clinic or out on farm calls, you'll find him neck-deep in projects (some self-imposed, most at Brittany's suggestion). He loves the outdoors, whether he's fishing, farming, or getting sunburnt at the beach. He's proud to call East Tennessee home and blessed to have a job he truly loves.
